Our long-range solutions enable communications networks to provide real- time monitoring and control for any SCADA need. These solutions provide communications to where you need it most, especially tough, rugged, industrial environments. Locations without indoor facilities that have no phone lines or even commercial power are typical installations for Nova’s SCADA projects. Nova is Motorola’s only MOSCAD dealer in the Maritimes. Projects may be able to avoid the cost or safety issues of a implementing a wired solution by using the Motorola’s Canopy or MDS series of 900 MHz Spread Spectrum radios. These long range, high speed, industrial wireless IP/Ethernet solutions allows you to bring operational information over Ethernet or a serial gateway and onto networks. This includes mission-critical, revenue- generating data from fixed assets such as oil and gas wells, compressor stations, pipelines, fluid storage tanks and utility meters. Portable network access for vehicle-based operation is also available. A good example of our experience with SCADA and telemetry is the automation of an unmanned oil production platform. This system includes monitoring with navigational and environmental hazard warnings and reporting via satellite links to a head office in Halifax.
