Motorola Solutions has announced that the DTR700 will be the improved replacement for the DTR650 on-site digital two way radio. The DTR series of two way radios (walkie talkies) are designed to be an affordable, user-friendly option for industries that need reliable in-building coverage.
The Motorola DTR700 digital portable radio features:
Slim Rugged Design
The DTR700 comes in a more compact package for a better grip, with prominent keys for easier access to push-to-talk functions. These radios are built with the everyday user in mind to withstand the accidents that can happen on the job. The DTR700 exterior is designed to meet military standards 810 C, D, E, F, and G, for reliable performance after multiple shocks, drops in water, dust penetration, and extreme temperatures.
Programmable Key Functions
The DTR700 radio offers a programmable button that can be used for features including Call All/Page All, connecting you to all radios immediately without searching through your channel list. Private Reply allows you to talk privately to the person currently talking to a group after the group radio transmission is over, clearing the radio channel from unnecessary chatter.
Intuitive Colour Display
One of the most noticeable upgrades of Motorola’s DTR700 portable radio is the full-graphic, colour display that uses brightness adjustment to provide optimal visibility in any lighting. The navigation menu is designed to be intuitive, making it easier for new users to quickly learn how to operate their radio.
For large or dispersed facilities, like hotels and retail centres, the Motorola DTR Series of digital radios offer expanded in-building coverage for properties up to 350,000 sq. ft. (30 floors). The digital audio quality of the DTR700 boosts call range, with better resistance to transmission interference and dead zones, so your message is always heard loud and clear no matter where you are.
Just like the DTR650, the DTR700 is licensed by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Industry Canada (IC) to operate in the license-free 900 MHz ISM (Industrial, Scientific, and Medical) band. This means that no licensing is required for this device, cutting the costs of set-up fees and monthly charges. To protect the privacy of your voice and data communications, the DTR700 walkie talkie also uses Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) technology that is known for military applications because of its low probability of interception and anti-jam features.
